So how we took the game from the Toy Aisle to Team Building is in the form of an icebreaker activity. We love quick-thinking games, especially when we can incorporate them into a great opening activity. Developing critical thinking skills will help you become a valued member of any team—at work, at school, or anywhere that solid decision-making skills are needed.
One of the re-engineered games using these cards is called Quick Flip. Each participant will get a small stack of cards to begin and find a partner. Participants are to notate the color on the back of the top card in their opponent’s hand. This will be the color ring they will be looking for when the card is flipped over. On your signal, have partners turn over their top card and race to identify the word in the matching colored ring. For example, if my opponent had a red card, I would be looking for the word in the red ring when the card is flipped over. Whoever finds the word first wins that round receives a point. Players then move that card to the bottom of their pile and find a new partner to play with. Encourage 5-6 partner exchanges or until someone achieves 10 points. It's a fun, high-energy game that infuses friendly competition and quick-thinking skills. There are additional rules and elements of play, but this is one of the games included with purchase of a set.
