Training Wheels has teamed up with Social Emotional Learning experts to create a one-of-a-kind SEL experiential activity training kit.  Combining the curriculums from authors Tara Flippo, author of Social Emotional Learning in Action, and Richard Maizell, author of Full Value School, this kit will equip teachers and facilitators with everything they need to successfully integrate a social-emotional learning program into the classroom.  The kit includes all the gear needed to facilitate all of the activities in both books.

Social and Emotional Learning in Action (SELA) is an easy-to-use sourcebook facilitated by teaching and/or counseling practitioners primarily in school settings. The pedagogical basis for these lessons are shaped around the research findings of the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), indicating that the inclusion of social and emotional development programs positively affects academic achievement. CASEL has identified five interrelated cognitive, affective, and behavioral competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. SELA will address all five. SELA will provide a developmentally sequenced year-long/ modular flow or stand-alone lessons that integrate the benefits of experiential and social-emotional learning (SEL) into the classroom. Each lesson (36 total) will offer step-by-step instructions along with a materials list.

This kit can be used indoors or outdoors, making it great for enhancing classroom curriculum and off-site activities. Each kit comes in a high-quality wheeled duffel with all gear stored in their own grab bag, keeping props organized and easy to find. Finally, it is equipped with a copy of both books that act as the field guide which has concise, easy-to-read instructions for all activities.
